Technology Adoption Curve

Innovators

These people are the trailblazers. They’re curious, excited by novelty, willing to take risks and often happy to use resources to get there first.

Early Adopters

Early adopters aren’t quite as risk-tolerant as innovators, but they’re still ahead of the curve. They look for smart, practical solutions and are more likely to adopt something once it’s proven to have real value.

Early Majority

This group represents the tipping point. They’re open to new ideas but want some reassurance before making a leap. Think of them as cautiously optimistic - they like innovation, but they also want to be confident it works.

Late Majority

More sceptical, the late majority will only adopt a new technology once it’s become the norm. They prefer to stick with what they know and often need convincing that the change is worth it.

Evidence- Lead adopters/ Laggards

Laggards are the last to come on board, if they do at all. They tend to stick with familiar systems long after the mainstream has moved on, sometimes because of preference, sometimes due to access or resources.
